CAMEROUN :: Cameroon: Statement of the C.R.M President on Trade Union Rights and Deprivation of Freedom to Members of NULTSE.

The Cameroon renaissance Movement (C.R.M) takes notice of the release in Yaounde of two of the three trade unionists of the National Union of Land Transport Sector Employees (NULTSE) on Friday 30th January 2015. Namely Mr NDEFOSSOKENG Collins and DEUDIE Joseph.

However, their comrade FIOKO Patrick who was acting within scope of the same industrial action, was arrested during the night from 15th to 16th January 2015 in Bafoussam, a statement was taken at the central police station of the town before he was taken to see the crown prosecutor. Furthermore, it has been reported to us that in breach of the code of criminal Procedure, the unionist FIOKO Patrick is held at the Bafoussam prison where he has been subjected to intimidation following unacceptable amalgams during the proceedings that led to the deprivation of his freedom by some personals repositories of the judicial authority.

The Cameroon Renaissance Movement reminds that the trade union freedom and the right to strike are recognised by the cameroonian laws, and therefore demands the immediate release of Mr FIOKO Patrick as well as the end of all procesucions against the three unionist of the  National Union of Land Transport Sector Employees  (NULTSE).

The C.R.M reminds that Cameroon is a state of law. As a republican party, it is profoundly attached to all freedoms and other laws of the republic garanteed by the constitution, especially the trade union liberty. It is the opportunity to reiterate that through the Republican Pact which is one of it's action pillars, the C.R.M is intended as a gathering force which advocates the defence of fundamental values of the republic that are Freedom, Equality, Citizenship and Justice in all its forms.

The National President,

Pr. Maurice KAMTO
